I, for the first time, have not been in the blogging mood which obviously has resulted in nothing cute being posteds. Luckily, this is a journal everyone reads and wants updated so I don't slack off for too long! Things have been pretty good around here, great really. Mike's brother Aaron and his wife Margie came to visit last Wednesday and left Tuesday. We had a BLAST! We were really sad to see them go. It was a very chill trip lucky for them and for us since we just got back from MO and they have some time away from school. We didn't do too much other than hang out. We went to the park and tried to feed some terribly "mean ducks" as Maddie calls them...they were geese and geese are such cranky and hissy animals. Friday, we rented a van and headed to DC. Poor Aaron and Marge had backseat patrol and Maddie puked about 5x's on the way there! It was terrible for her and for them! We left later in the morning to try and avoid that-since she does almost every time we go to the temple. Other than that we had a great day! We went and showed them the temple and then walked DC-we actually found a parking spot-AMAZING! We had a wonderful time. We went to Brusters Saturday night for fabulous ice cream. Sunday was Sunday, I survived my talk and Primary...the Primary kids were amazingly reverent Sunday and it was great! Memorial Day-we played outside all afternoon with the kids and grilled while Mike worked on homework. Tuesday morning Aaron and Margie left and Maddie was sad! She has talked about them everyday and when they are "coming back home." We loved having family here and will miss them!
We would like to thank, a few days late, all those who are serving this country and who have served this country. We love you and appreciate all that you have and do currently sacrifice for all of us. My brother-in-law got back from overseas (he's in the AF) on Sunday night and got to spend that special holiday with his family. We are glad you are home safely Evan and thank you! Andy, my brother who is also in the AF, thank you for all that you do and have done as well, we love and appreciate you! What a blessing it is to live in this nation and to have so many men and women defend it, it's rights and it's people!
