Update 2

So, today, and really yesterday beginning shortly after I blogged, Makinley is improving by leaps and bounds. Within 2 hours of the Dr. coming in she was taking extremely well to the breathing treatments and they suctioned her out and she was able to actually eat a little...she actually wanted to eat too. (she hadn't eaten anything since 9:30 the night before and it was now 2:30 pm) The Dr. has come in this morning and said that she is very pleased with Makinley's progress. She hasn't wanted food again this morning and the Dr. isn't happy about that but that it is part of the process. She has to be eating regularly and well, her fever needs to go down and they would still like to see some more improvement with the way her breathing sounds (it is mass amounts better though). I asked if she thought we should be able to go home tomorrow but she wouldn't really answer that...she just needs to see some more improvement and Makinley has to be "stable" and able to do more on her own.

So, this is all such positive news! Thank you, thank you for your thoughts and prayers and all the help-we couldn't have handled this on our own, that is for sure. We love you all so very much.

Here are some pics from yesterday...they don't seem to do it justice has to how bad she was but they still pull at your heart strings...well, mine at least.

(These are cell pics so if they're blurry that's why.)

Shannon, i am so sorry you have had to go through this. It is so hard to see a little one suffer like that and have people keep poking them and see them struggle. OUr prayers are with you, and hope she continues to improve fast so you can be back home with your family.

Poor sweet baby girl. I'll be praying for your family. She will come out of this and bounce back so fast. Kids are good like that. :) She's such a sweetheart!

I'm so glad to hear that she is doing better. I've been thinking about you guys a lot! I simply hate seeing little babies in the hospital at all! I'm glad things are starting to look up and will hopefully continue to get better!

So sad to see her like that. But so happy to hear she is getting better. I can't imagine what you are going through as her mother. But, she is lucky to have you there with her. Hope you get to go home soon!
