Hummingbirds...all the rage-or becoming the rage???

Well, some weeks backs, I went scouring for some fabric online because I wanted to make skirts for the girls. I found some beautiful fabric and loved it but then, had the "brilliant" idea to let Maddie pick .
(Confession, I actually think what she picked is very cute-I was just a bit sceptical of it for a skirt.)

So, she picked it and I made it, with the tutorial from over at Ucreate. I love how it turned out, and though it is bold and bright-I actually love it and am glad that it is a "Maddie" skirt, ya know one that she wants to wear because she picked it out and loves it!

Now, of course I hope no one ever looks too closely at it...there are many a flaw. I did realize that I take too many breaks between sewing projects and so improvement never seems to happen. (Oh, do you remember that valance I made?? and said I needed to finish the other one? Yeah, I finally made it... last week)

Now for pics...

Hummingbirds...what do you think?

That is adorable. Now we just need to see Makinley model hers. You are inspiring me to become a seamstress. I'll have to check out that site.

So Freakin' cute! I'm so glad you let her choose! You are inspiring. I need to get a machine. My baby sister blew mine by trying to plug it in in Europe (waaa-waaa). CAn'r wait until I get one, just for these skirts!
