Families Are Forever...

I think this is a statement that, when being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we can sometimes just stick in our routine conversation and not think about it too much. And then the Lord sends ways to remind you of it's beautiful and amazing importance. For any of you reading this that are not LDS aka "Mormon" we believe that after we pass away our relationships with our family and our spouses don't end, life doesn't end after this life. We get the opportunity to continue to live and learn and to become more perfected and like our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are married in temples for this exact reason-we are are married for "time and all eternity" rather than "til death do you part." What an amazing gift and blessing that I am truly grateful for!

You may all be wondering, "where did this come from, why is she going on and on about this?" Mike's grandma passed away yesterday, this has been coming for a little bit now but it is still hard to deal with a little. Even with the knowledge that we have that we return to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ we still had a few questions about those who pass away without having been sealed in the temple or aren't members of the church, things we worried about/didn't seem to quite grasp as far as what would happen. Mike found comfort when reading the scriptures and finding the answers that we needed-how grateful we are for the scriptures! We know that she was able to see our Father and Savior and have such a reunion with them-how comforting. I didn't know his Grandma very well but know while she was a feisty woman :) she had so much love for her family! She was a trooper and a fighter. How grateful we are to her for raising an amazing son who found the gospel and blessed this family with more than we could ever imagine. We know that she now has peace and is resting from her pain now and is having the amazing opportunity of being with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again. We love you Grandma and can't wait to see you and be with you again because "Families ARE Forever!"

Sorry to hear about Mike's grandma. My Great Grandma passed away in January of 08, it was still very hard even though we were expecting her to go for about two years. I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who gives us the tools we need to be with our Families Forever!
