Pizza, Late Nights and Laughter

We had a last minute visit from Jamie and family late Saturday night. They came to Richmond to buy a van and were just going to stop in real quick and say hi. They got here at 9:00 pm and we had pizza, the kids played until after 10 and they and we laughed and had a great time! Can I just say that I LOVE that the kids have some cousins nearby?! They just get so excited to see "our cousins" and I love watching and listening to them all play together.
It is another bitter sweet thing though, it makes me sad that they don't get to see ALL their cousins more ofter. We got Kallie's baptism announcement in the mail the other day-I cried, she's so big and so beautiful and you know...we have to miss that super special day for her-and I hate it. I really look forward to the day when all my family, both sides, can live within a better distance from each other, when we all have "big kid" jobs so we can afford to get together if that day of living close never comes. Why does "growing up" have to be so hard sometimes? These feelings have been coming for quite sometime now but having Makinley get so sick, and us not knowing what the outcome was going to be there for little bit, makes it hit so much harder. I just love my family, and that includes so many people, and Mike and I miss them terribly-and so do our kids. So, here's to praying, hoping and wishing that the day of being closer comes sooner than later because...

I like pictures like these...
and we need more of them.

I'm in exacly your same situation Shannon and it's so, so hard. The only good thing about it is when we do get to visit everyone we feel so special and wanted- I'd rather everyone was bored of seeing us though.
